About Carolyn Anderson
Carolyn Anderson, born and raised in the Chicago area, is a nationally recognized and accomplished pastelist and oil painter. She attended school at Illinois State University, participated in the Vista program (Volunteers in Service to America), and was assigned to work on a reservation in Montana.

She later returned to the state and now lives near Havre in north-central Montana near the Canadian border. She is a Master Artist with the American Impressionist Society (AIS) and a member of Northwest Rendevous Group (NWR).
Anderson's awards include the C.M. Russell Artists' Choice, several NWR Award of Excellence, two C. M. Russell Best of Show Awards and most recently the 2010 Master Award of Excellence for AIS. Her work has been featured in several national publications including Southwest Art, Art of the West, and The Big Sky Journal.
Anderson is also in demand as a workshop instructor having taught for Walt Disney Imagineering, the Frye Museum, Scottsdale Artists School, and the Fechin School. Her work is included in the collection of the Montana Historical Society.
