Simpson Gallagher Gallery

You are cordially invited to the opening reception of
T. Allen Lawson: Neighbors
An Exhibition of Recent Works
Thursday, September 18
from 5 to 8 in the evening

Simpson Gallagher Gallery is honored to host T. Allen Lawson’s one-man exhibition Neighbors. The subjects of the pieces, in the words of the artist, “are not the people next door or the ranch down the way. These paintings are portraits of the often unnoticed or forgotten neighbors that are around us every day – the chickens, horses, deer, cows, crows and magpies that share our yards, woods, skies and lives.”

Tim Lawson is known for his landscape paintings. This show is a departure for him and is wonderfully bold. It speaks to his willingness to push himself into a less familiar realm with the same kind of focus on excellence that he applies to all of his work. Lawson is a true student. He is constantly learning and experimenting to a degree that is not often seen. The strength of his work is in his obvious commitment to tell a story, which is always about place, whether inhabited by animals or humans or simply memories.
