Mimi Litschauer

Mimi Litschauer

Mimi Litschauer thrives on her artistic freedom and autonomy. "I do exactly what I want, when I want" is the reply she gives when someone inquiries about her profession. That honest declaration reflects the free spirit of this determined artist. Born and raised in Wisconsin, Litschauer moved west to travel and paint the seductive Western landscape and to continue her independent studies with artists she respected. She willfully sought out those who had the same enthusiasm for outdoor painting. This diligent approach to pursuing her passion won her the prestigious John F. and Anna Lee Stacey Scholarship Award in 1994 and has won her the respect and admiration of her peers and patrons. Litschauer resides in Marathon, Texas, where she paints and explores the desolate grandeur of Big Bend National Park in Texas.
